RIMOWA Case Study 2018

Together with our partner RIMOWA from Cologne, a few weeks ago we officially started a case study with our students from the RWTH International Academy. A few days ago, these passionate students had their first onboarding day at RIMOWA.

They had the opportunity to get in touch with all key contact persons at the headquarters and received their first orders to be processed.

Over a period of 12 weeks, five of our students, who were previously selected from more than 70 students through an assessment center initiated jointly with RIMOWA, will have weekly presentation meetings with the team from Cologne.

“After these extremely successful days, RIMOWA is looking forward to working intensively with these curious five students and giving them the best opportunity to achieve their goals – personally but also professionally. Because we believe that people make the difference.” Quote RIMOWA

We would like to thank our company partner RIMOWA for the case study and look forward to further cooperation.

Career Day 2018

On May 22, 2018, the networking and recruiting event Career Day of the RWTH International Academy took place for the fifth time. The aim of the Career Day is to provide the International Master’s students of the International Academy study programs with contacts during their studies in order to stimulate early on important competences for a successful career start in Germany. At the same time, companies have the opportunity to find highly motivated international students for internships, master theses or direct entry after graduation.

This year’s Career Day was hosted by Mr. Sven Lingens, Career Advisor | Career Service | Engineering & Natural Sciences and Ms. Verena-Julia Thelen | Program Coordinator & Career Service | Engineering & Natural Sciences, who jointly led the program as moderators. Approximately 130 students from the RWTH International Academy and RWTH Business School were present and informed themselves in lectures, Round Table Discussions, Meet Best of Class, Company Slam, CV Checks and booths about the companies Oerlikon Barmag, Amazon, Phenospex, STRABAG AG, ASML, Job @ctive, Procter & Gamble, ModuleWorks, Techniker Krankenkasse as a health partner and the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure.

A very special highlight was the presentation of our new job portal by our partner Jobteaser.

The exchange between students and companies was used with great interest throughout the day and led to intensive discussions and contacts, from which both sides can continue to profit in the future.

The team of the RWTH International Academy is already looking forward to being able to offer the event again in 2019 in our own premises on the Campus Melaten.

If you as a company are interested in participating in the next year, please contact us at career@academy.rwth-aachen.de for information on the participation packages and their added value.

Career Day 2017

On June 8th 2017 the networking and recruiting event Career Day of RWTH International Academy took place for the fourth time. The event’s goal is to provide the international master students of RWTH International Academy’s programmes with valuable networking opportunities throughout their studies to ensure a successful transition into the job market after graduation. At the same time, local companies get the chance to meet highly motivated students and assess them as suitable candidates for internships, a master thesis or direct job entry.

The hosts of this year’s Career Day were Marina Brandt, Business Unit Manager for Career Services & Networks at RWTH International Academy, and Lucas Ciccarelli, a student of Textile Engineering. Close to 130 students of all programs took the chance to get information and networking opportunities with the companies ASML, Procter & Gamble, Jobactive, Nash Direct, Tecosim, Phoenix Mecano, Whoohoo, Trotec, Techniker Krankenkasse and The Association of German Engineers. One of the designated highlights of this year was the newly introduced Company Slam, in which representatives of ASML, Tecosim and Phoenix Mecano only had 30 seconds to answer the witty questions of Lucas Ciccarelli.

With networking opportunities such as Round Table discussions and the Market Place being highly frequented throughout the whole event, both the companies and the students gained valuable contacts for the future.

RWTH Aachen International Academy is already looking forward to hosting the event again in 2018.
If your company is interested in taking part next year, please contact career@academy.rwth-aachen.de for more information on available tickets and their Advantages.
